Looking to get fit this year and want to know which is the best gym for you in Singapore? We go behind the scenes of the recently opened Platinum Fitness in Tanjong Pagar and discover some of its cool features. If this area of town works for you, book in a look-see and get started!
Platinum Fitness members have the flexibility to train anytime around the clock, thanks to the 24/7 entry available via a personalised access key. Jetlagged and sleepless at 3am? Seize the day – or night, rather – and do a workout! This is a particularly good perk for night owls and early risers. There are three female shower rooms and two male shower rooms, all stocked with Ashley & Co toiletries, so you’ll have no excuse not to exercise – whether it’s before work, during your lunch break or before a dinner date.
From cutting-edge cardio machines like Krankcycle and S-Drive Performance Trainer (a strength-building simulation-type apparatus with a harness) to an ample weight zone and TRX suspension training, the 4,000 square foot space is equipped with everything you’d ever need for a full-body workout. Additionally, 45-minute, heart-pumping GetPlatFit HIIT classes are available three times a day for an added cost (also available to GuavaPass members).
Torn between working out and bingeing on your favourite shows? At Platinum, you can do both, and more. The gym’s recumbent cycling machines and Matrix treadmills offer premium entertainment accessibility; just enter your personal login details to watch or read content on Netflix, Hulu, Press Reader and Kindle Reader while exercising, log in to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter to catch up on social media, or access personal playlists from Spotify. Customise your gym experience, just how you want it!
Perhaps you’re already working with a trusted trainer you know and love, and you don’t want to give that up by joining a new gym. Platinum Fitness members can decide exactly how they want to train, whether it be alone, with an in-house trainer or even with an external trainer of their choice; fees for bringing in your own instructor start at $20 per hour.
Despite its premium equipment and amenities, Platinum Fitness’s gym membership base fees are relatively low for Singapore. A one-year membership is just $90, while a six month membership costs $120; there’s also a registration fee of $150. Other than group classes available at an additional fee, those who want 24-hour accessibility pay a one-time fee of $70 for the access key card.
