Bar review: We test out Tigerlily on Dempsey Road, Singapore

Tigerlily
Block 7 Dempsey Road, #01-03
6473 4500 | tigerlily.com.sg

Who Drinks Here:

Dempsey Brasserie has been replaced by a cosier newcomer, Tigerlily, which is attracting a good mix of locals and expats.

Best Thing About It:

There’s live music in the sultry indoor bar – check out the 80 or more birdcages hanging from the ceiling. For balmy evenngs, there’s also outdoor seating adjacent to the road, where you can watch the world go by.

Signature Drinks:

The Tigerlily Pimms (Happy Hour $12 or $15) was good. Happy Hour (till 9pm) has some nice little discounts: Bulmer’s cider (HH $13 or $17), Tiger and Heineken (HH $10 or $14) and a glass of Moët & Chandon (HH $16 or $24). If you’re after a chilled dry white, you’ll be safe with the Mount Riley Sauvignon Blanc (HH $12 or $15).

Nibbles and Noshes:

The name of the game here is small Asian bar bites – chicken satay ($11), various mini-burgers ($14), and Vietnamese pork belly rolls ($14), best savoured without thinking of the amount of pork grease that makes them so moreish.

When To Go: Open daily till 2am.
