Here for less than a year is pop-up Mars Bar (open till late October 2014), tucked away in a small corner of the Duxton Hotel lobby lounge. It’s run by two passionate mixologists, Roger Yip and Louis Tan. The big draw at this oddly placed bar (which is really just a
cute counter where you can get up close and personal with the mixologists) are the “out there” cocktails. From the childhood-inspired atas Ribena ($20) – Stolichnaya vodka, black grapes, lemongrass and Ribena cordial, to the wacky-sounding chilli crab cocktail ($22) – a beautifully presented, kooky concoction that is both weird and wonderful, these are drinks you simply must try. Move over, Singapore Sling, you’ve got competition!
