First Impressions: Nestled in a cosy shophouse, the bar’s décor is industrial concrete and minimalist, but maintains an inviting feel with its mix of high-top tables and bench seating.
The Chosen One: Picking one drink is difficult. Part bar, part liquor store, the venue features a wall of spirits and wine – vodka, gin, whisky and a selection of reds and whites; just take your preferred drop off the wall and bring it to your table. If you don’t finish your chosen bottle, you can take it home or the bar will hold on to it for your next visit. Choices include Johnnie Walker Black Label at $88, Chivas Regal at $114, and, if you want to splurge, 12-year-old Hibiki at $240.
The Cheapskate: No matter the time of day you can enjoy an $8.80 pint of Heineken. No Happy Hour prices, just a cheap beer anytime.
Bite on This: Perfect salty bar food to accompany the cheap pints. The crispy pork belly ($16) and deep-fried chicken ($10) are fantastic sharing dishes. If you want something a little more substantial, dig into the minced lamb shawarma wraps ($12).
Last but not Least: It may feel like a dark basement that just happens to be on street level, but Finders Keepers is the perfect place to make your local. And it’s a real local – they even give you markers to graffiti the toilet, so get creative!
