Bali with kids: What to do and where to stay

Looking for a short getaway with your brood? How about a Bali holiday? We all know that it is the perfect spot for some rest and relaxation, and with its rich culture, natural beauty and countless family-friendly activities, it’s ideal for keeping the little ones entertained. We explore two lovely destinations in this Indonesian paradise: Jimbaran Bay and Sayan.

Jimbaran Bay

Located on Bali’s southwest coast, the vibrant fishing village of Jimbaran Bay is just 20 minutes from the international airport at Denpasar.

What to do:

Families can also head to Coconut Grove for a surf lesson with TropicSurf or hop on a catamaran for a leisurely afternoon sail. There’s a chance for kids to work on their tennis skills at the Junior Tennis Clinic (Tuesdays from 5.30pm to 6.30pm). You can also drop by the Ganesha Cultural Centre that offers Balinese craft workshops such as songket weaving, painting and woodcarving. While you’re there, catch the Balinese dance performance in the courtyard. Finally, don’t miss a day-trip to Waterbom Bali, a water park just 30 minutes away. After a long day out, indulge in a soothing massage at the resort’s Healing Village Spa.

Sayan

Sayan is a quiet village in the highlands of Bali, by the Ayung River. Boasting lush forests and the cool, fresh mountain air, it’s just 5km from Ubud.
