iTheatre have taken the 200 year-old Grimm Brothers folk tale Cinderella, and carefully re-shaped it with music, song, drama, comedy and of course, shoes!
Whilst it follows the traditional storyline, there’s a twist with some local references and themes thrown in. The acting is excellent and the costumes are perfect, a testament to the Director, Producer and entire crew.
The true critics though are the children, and from the look on the faces of the large audience it was a hit. They laughed, squirmed and were thoroughly captivated throughout. 55 minutes is just the right length for children who are largely under 10.
Known as Cinderella, she is actually called Ashputtel because she sleeps in the ashes by the fire. The play includes the characters you know: a villainous stepmother, two nasty stepsisters, a charming Prince, her absent father, plus the ghost of her long lost mother.
Children aged three and up.
