Set a few months after the first film, this sequel sees The Guardians travelling through the cosmos as they fight to keep their newfound family together, and seek to unravel the mystery of Peter Quill’s true parentage. Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel and Dave Bautista, the superhero flick opens 27 April.

The Lost City of Z

Starring Robert Pattinson, Charlie Hunnam and Tom Holland, this film tells the true story of British explorer Percy Fawcett, who journeys into the Amazon at the dawn of the 20th century and discovers evidence of a previously unknown, advanced civilisation that may have once inhabited the region. Despite being ridiculed by the scientific establishment who regard indigenous populations as “savages”, the determined Fawcett returns to the jungle in an attempt to prove his case, culminating in his mysterious disappearance. Opens 20 April at Cathay Cineplexes.

Based on the 1979 film by the same name, this heist comedy features Academy Award-winners Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine and Alan Arkin as lifelong buddies who, after losing their pensions, devise a scheme to rob the bank that absconded with their money. Opens 20 April at Golden Village cinemas.

This 13-episode comedy series, inspired by the New York Times best-selling autobiography by Sophia Amoruso, follows Sophia (Britt Robertson), a broke and rebellious misfit who discovers a passion for selling vintage clothes on eBay, becoming an unlikely businesswoman in the process. However, as her multi-million-dollar fashion empire grows, she must learn to cope with life as her own boss. Girlboss launches globally on Netflix on 21 April.
