Affordable furniture stores in Singapore: they do exist!

2nd August 2021 by Amy Brook-Partridge 3 Min Read

Affordable furniture in Singapore is not a myth, and it also doesn’t mean cheap and nasty! It just means doing your furniture shopping with a view to finding reasonably priced pieces that still last the distance. Here are some great ideas for affordable furniture stores in Singapore to start off with.

Just Anthony

Just Anthony is probably one of the most affordable furniture stores in Singapore, but its Great Summer Sale, running until 22 August, makes it even more so! Specialising in Chinese antique furniture, the store stocks an impressive selection of both reproduction and antique pieces; you’ll also find oriental-style accessories include lamps and lights, art, wall hangings, screens and room dividers. We always love popping in to see what’s new.

Get your hands on one of the seven-drawer consoles (priced at an all-year low of $900), available in a variety of colours. They can be used in the bedroom, as a TV console with storage, a living room sideboard or even in the hallway.

We also love the hand-painted small wooden round drums ($120 each), and the ever-popular ceramic drum stools ($100-$220). They come in a variety of colours and designs, and are ideal décor pieces or as a side table in your living or bedroom.

Owner Danielle recommends keeping an eye online for other offers. “We have an on-going bundle promotion for lamps, which is also available online.”

Originals

Originals is one of those affordable furniture stores that bears in mind the different needs and budgets of customers and curates its range accordingly. On top of this, it extends a 10 percent VIP discount to any customer who spends $5,000 in single or multiple receipts!

You can get your hands on a gorgeous Copal fabric sofa for $12,880, solid oak Torsion dining table for $1,240 or solid oak Air bedframe for $2,025. There’s also the Rose outdoor lounge chair for $580. All products are beautifully crafted and designed to last.

Originals’ Geri Murphy points out that affordable furniture shopping does not mean skimping on quality in favour of something cheap. “It will only need replacing in a short space of time,” she says. “If you’re on a tight budget, buy fewer quality pieces; don’t fill your space with ‘cheaper’ products. Also, the accent items don’t need be expensive. We often help customers to make the most of their homes by working with the items they already have and treasure, adding either a statement piece or necessary items (beds, sofas, dining table, and chairs) that will stand the test of time.”

Soul & Tables

This affordable furniture store offers a raft of services that will help you keep your top-quality furniture for as long as possible. Its long-term after-sales services include a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and a complimentary lifetime maintenance for solid wood pieces; delivery is also complimentary with no minimum purchase required.

Highlights include the teak Twentytwenty 120cm dining table, priced reasonably at $845. Then there’s the oak writer desk $995 (pictured), and teak Simplycity Ladder desk $995.

The Soul & Tables team believe that affordability comes through the longevity of furniture. “You shouldn’t need to settle for less in terms of quality just because you’re looking at affordable furniture shopping options; it’s possible to find high-quality pieces at a reasonable price.”

Amy has two kids, one dog and one husband - although she'd love to have more than one (dog, that is). She's mad about F45 training, running and playing Gaelic football, when she isn't injured or drinking a little too much wine.
