Accelerated learning for ambitious students

28th October 2020 by Dee Khanduja 3 Min Read

https://expatliving.sg/accelerated-learning-for-students-igcse-and-a-levels/

If your child happens to be an ambitious student, or doesn’t feel challenged enough at school,  you may have wondered if there are any accelerated learning options to fast-track their learning. Especially if it’s at the GCE A-Levels or IGCSE stage.

Some children have specific subject interests, which aren’t available for them to study in their school.  Or others may want to challenge themselves further by adding specialist subjects to their existing studies.

Introducing Crimson Global Academy (CGA). CGA is a globally registered online school that provides accelerated learning courses for ambitious learners. Students can now attain globally recognised qualifications earlier than normal – and from the comfort of home. We asked the team to share details on how they’re connecting students and teachers to deliver live training.

Accelerated Learning with Crimson Academy

What is CGA?

It’s an online registered high school designed for ambitious students to supercharge their learning through accelerated learning and advanced coursework.

What type of accelerated learning qualifications and subjects are available for students to study?

Our students can take AP exams as well as International GCSEs and GCE A-Levels. They’re able to take these exams earlier than is possible at standard high schools. They can also take subjects that would normally not be offered at their grade level at traditional schools; for instance, Computer Science, Psychology and Statistics.

How large is your online classroom?

We have a maximum class size of 12 students so our teachers can provide personalised attention within a structured classroom setting.  With both full-time, and part-time enrolment options at CGA, students can supplement the classes they’re taking currently at school.

What types of student would be suited to these a accelerated learning programmes?

CGA is for any student aged 13-18 that wants to learn faster, study more subjects or go further in their future.  We empower students through opportunities that wouldn’t be available at brick-and-mortar schools. One of our greatest differences is that students are placed based on ability, not age. This means that motivated younger students can access subjects that interest them earlier than would be possible in standard schools.

For instance, we have a 13-year old student from Singapore receiving  CGA instruction in Economics, Business Studies, Physics and Chemistry at the International GCSE level.  These type of subjects would not typically be available to students until they reach high school or university levels.

What are some of the benefits in taking your accelerated learning courses?

Students have the opportunity to take courses in disciplines that are in high demand in today’s volatile economy that might not be offered in traditional schools, including AP Computer Science and AP Statistics. This allows CGA students to graduate with a comparative advantage when it comes to landing competitive internships. Our CGA courses provide stepping stones for internships and career preparation overall.

The wide-ranging benefits of boosted accelerated learning can help give children a leg up in today’s competitive university admissions landscape, by exploring their academic interests in depth. By taking advanced courses, they graduate ‘college ready’.

What’s the typical profile of your teachers and students?

All our classes are taught by teachers with an average of 20+ years of experience teaching at some of the best private schools worldwide.

We have students joining CGA from over 21 countries.  So it’s a diverse environment, and our learners have access to a global alumni network of highly ambitious and gifted peers.

This is particularly relevant given that in today’s increasingly globalised world.  Students that excel at top universities and at competitive internships are ‘global citizens’. This really helps to set them up to thrive in multicultural environments.
