Most people have found the past couple of years challenging, but things are (apparently) looking up – especially after the first quarter! Read our 2019 annual tarot horoscope to find out what your year will be like.
Aries (21 March – 19 April)
There always seems to be a happy ending this year, even with those things that don’t begin on a happy note. The pain and disappointment you may feel at the beginning of the year will soon dissipate as you discover and understand the reason for them. These negative emotions are the result of events from the previous year – events you begin to process at the start of 2019. You’ll discover ways of managing them, moving into calmer waters in the second quarter. But you won’t be able to help wavering in your emotions from time to time. Expect to be faced with a dilemma or to have a major decision to make towards the end of the second quarter. This could open up into drama and conflict in the third quarter. You’ll face challenges in relationships, particularly romantic ones. Still, if you learn to manage your expectations, things should turn out fine by the end of 2019. This is a year of learning; reaction isn’t wise in an adverse situation, but reflection will leave you triumphant.
Taurus (20 April – 20 May)
Good news regarding your career in the first quarter: you’ll begin something new or pick up a new skill that allows you to pursue what will make you truly happy. The motto for 2019 appears to be to “follow your dreams and realise your passion”. As with all things, plans won’t always go smoothly, so be prepared for challenges. But if you fine tune things as you go along, progress will naturally come. Your strength and perseverance will pay off in the third quarter, when you achieve a level of success by returning to basics and working on your foundations first. There’s also lots to learn this year when it comes to relationships and family life. Events over the course of 2019 will rub off on ones who are close to you; so, take time at year’s end to reflect and understand where things have gone wrong and how things can be approached better. You’ll be pleased to see that all of your hard work materialises in wealth, and assists in providing for a more stable home environment for your family.
Gemini (21 May – 20 June)
You need to stay constructive and waste no time in laying the foundation for your creative pursuits in the first quarter of 2019. You found a calling in 2018, and this is the year when things are put into action. This is something close to your heart – a need to have the feeling that “work should be fun”. Pursuing what you truly love will change your outlook; you’ll feel warmth and exuberance, and will seem to ooze charisma when you speak about this thing that completely resonates with your being. You’ll develop a Midas touch, and there will always be a solution waiting for every challenge you encounter. Bask in this high in the second quarter of the year. The smooth operator in you realises that you can’t be complacent on your high horse and that accumulating more knowledge will be of benefit to you. Spend time internalising and creating improvements in what you have already acquired. There’s no need to impress with out-of-the-box creations; instead, stick with what you know and just carry on perfecting, and you will be in a position to take leaps and bounds by the end of the year. Expansion, or dabbling in more than one thing, will feel comfortable. And you’ll be in a position to sustain short-term monetary losses in order to make monetary gains for the future. Your relationship with finances will reach a place where you are completely detached and have no fear of not having enough.
Cancer (21 June – 22 July)
The year starts with a focused determination to correct your financial situation and anything else that makes you emotionally unhappy. Letting go is the theme in 2019. You’ve accumulated a lot of unhappiness over time and none of it may hold any relevance anymore. The work you need to do to move away from these long-held emotions will come into motion in the first quarter. You may seek advice from a figure of authority, or you may instead retreat inward to gain an understanding on how you should move forward in the second quarter. Personal growth will be the focus in the first half of the year. With lessons gained, you’ll plod on into the second half of the year. There’s an increased focus on yourself at this time, in the form of self care – healthy diet and plenty of exercise. This provides a release for your angst and unhappiness; keep a strong mind and your emotions in check to keep up with this new attitude. Family life will also come into focus by year’s end. While you’ll make plans to harmonise this family life, happenings in the past may still creep up to sabotage your plans from time to time. On the whole, it does feel like an emotionally trying time for Cancer.
Leo (23 July – 22 August)
If you’re in a relationship, there’ll be disappointment from a partner when you don’t receive the support you’d like to have. You may feel like the onus of caring and ensuring that meals are prepared and the home is kept clean is left to you, despite work getting busier for yourself. Obviously, the key to resolving this would be communication. It may just be a case of oversight and complacency. Finances continue to improve in the second quarter. Stick to what you know and do best, and you will be rewarded. A positive change awaits in the areas of structure and stability in your life. There is good news in the third quarter in the form of a new job opportunity or even a change at home. However, what you do for work or business comes into question at the end of the year. You haven’t been short of opportunities up to now. But you begin to question if these are the opportunities that will fulfil you. A practical solution of beginning a project aside to your full-time work becomes attractive. This should provide a good test as to whether your ‘Plan B’ would lead to monetary sustainability.
Virgo (23 August – 22 September)
It’s quite an exciting year ahead, bursting with creativity and opportunities. You overcome all odds to push through a new idea or receive a working opportunity. The first quarter will certainly be a cause for celebration. Things begin to roll out in the second quarter, though it’s important to do your research and pick up new skills or knowledge where necessary to ensure your success. Not doing any of the above could result in you crashing before you even begin to drive. It’s quite a delicate time ahead so avoid acting without sufficient background information. Things finally get in motion in the third quarter. You are resolute in making your new venture successful, and your family is a motivational factor for you to ensure financial stability. The great news is your relationship with your finances will feel relaxed in the third quarter. You aren’t ashamed of seeking help, and you aren’t arrogant in offering it. The pace picks up in the final quarter. Your thinking and decision-making is crisp and clear; your confidence will exude in all your actions. There’ll be no stopping your enthusiasm and success.
Libra (23 September – 22 October)
Your innate ability to tell it as it is and your integrity put you in a very good position for an improvement in your work area, either in the form of an increased salary or a promotion. So, kudos to that! Relationships come into focus in the second quarter. You are keen on making things better. Moving towards a more harmonious relationship with family, friends and your partner is what you strive hard to achieve. Self-improvement in all areas of your life seems to be the theme for 2019. You may find yourself picking up a new skill or even a new area of study that will be the beginnings of laying a foundation for a massive change in the future. You’re very much looking ahead and getting all the right tools ready for the change. By year’s end, you find yourself in a position of moving out of your head and actually making things happen physically. Pace yourself, though, as rushing and being ill-equipped will turn out to be a complete waste of effort.
Scorpio (23 October – 21 November)
The year seems quite emotion-oriented. There is some worry and a sense of struggle in your efforts to connect with yourself or maybe empathise with people around you. This disconnect is what you will try to fix in the first quarter. It’s nothing to be worried about, though; rather, it’s something that will come to your attention so you can address it, allowing you to move to the next challenge that life presents. Being bound by duty and a sense of responsibility becomes a straight-jacket for you in some ways. You have sacrificed your personal interests for the sake of keeping near and dear ones happy and comfortable. You don’t necessarily have to run off into the sunset, but you will begin to find pockets of satisfaction in the midst of performing your duties. Take up that pottery class or guitar lesson. Scoot away for a weekend shopping, fishing or surfing trip on your own. Have no sense of guilt about treating yourself or allowing yourself to pursue what keeps you satisfied – you’ll be surprised at how healing it will be for you as well as your family. Things will feel happier because you are happier! All worries about finances or ways to provide will begin to fall away, and opportunities and ideas will begin to come through because you’ve removed a big block in your life. And you’ll have realised that things don’t always have to follow a regimented rule; you can bend and flex to make things happen and be happy all at the same time.
Sagittarius (22 November – 21 December)
There are some challenges amidst some victories for Sagittarius in 2019. You’ve made some good financial decisions that have put you in a very comfortable financial position. You’ve acted on impulse many times. But be more aware of making decisions this way as you move forward – you could put yourself in a spot and be unsure about what move to make next. Clarity and increased understanding over your circumstances will take place in the second quarter, enabling you to overcome any fear approaching the unknown. Opportunities will arise but not necessarily the kind that you may seek in the third quarter. It may feel very trying and your environment extremely stagnant because of this. You may need to adjust your expectations so as to avoid missing out on these opportunities. You need to change your perspective towards one where unsuitable opportunities can be seen as opportunities that you can grow into and own. This would certainly create more stability and reliability for the end of 2019.
Capricorn (22 December – 19 January)
A positive year awaits Capricorn. Firstly, you will be glad to see a change in your relationship with your finances. A lack of it no longer becomes a cause for alarm. Instead, a sense of calm allows you to understand it’s all just a flow of energy, and what goes down will have to come up at some point. Help you’ve provided at some point will return to you. There is also good news around a struggle you’ve had about your self-care. You not only have the finances to allow that, but you also have no guilt about treating yourself. In the love department, you take charge of things. If you’re single, you may seek out love in the most traditional of ways; technology is certainly not going to be one of them. Good old personal introductions or being set up by family will be a welcome respite from the many twists and scams presented by online dating sites. Take time to balance yourself by the year’s end. You may need to work on creating harmony with situations or people. You’re taking on more than you can handle in playing a carer to your family, so try to share the responsibilities where possible.
Aquarius (20 January – 18 February)
The year kicks off with a perfect start where you discover a project that can keep you self-sufficient monetarily. You have taken matters into your own hands and gone in search of something to keep you happy and fulfilled. However, you find it a struggle to convince yourself to pull away from what you’ve been doing to keep yourself going financially. You’re in a right dilemma: is this the time and place to drop what you’ve been doing and focus on your new project? The advice is to take one step at a time. So, trust your instincts and break away bit by bit into your new venture. There is trouble with a certain authority, with the law or simply someone who is an authority in your life – it could be a manager or perhaps even your parents or spouse. And there is some disappointment around this. But it’s something you’ll definitely get over, so don’t be too worried. If you’re the breadwinner of your household then the end of year holds some excellent news. New opportunities sprout from the woodwork, and you may find yourself in a position of receiving a windfall from the lottery or an investment. This sum of money certainly comes in handy. It either allows you to repay the mortgage or make improvements to your place of dwelling.
Pisces (19 February – 20 March)
In 2019, you’ll show plenty of fire and commitment to ensure that the thing you love to do allows you to become monetarily self-sufficient. You begin the year by getting rid of everything that doesn’t satisfy you anymore. It isn’t a case of pursuing something blindly just because it pays well. The whole process of sieving through prospects doesn’t deter you. You look at this as an opportunity to expand and expose yourself to possibilities rather than to live under a shell. You put yourself out there and work your way through by charming your way to achieve what you want – quite unlike the usually shy and reserved character of Pisces. But you are willing to stretch the boundaries and feel unrestricted by your personality. Your desire to experiment and test your characteristics breaks all boundaries for you to achieve your goal. A phase of temporary financial difficulties will arise in the third quarter, but you seem to rise up to this by trusting your instincts and looking at the situation from a different perspective rather than seeing it as an obstacle. The end of the year feels nice. Your desire to do what makes you happy and feel self-sufficient at the same time comes to fruition; this may feel selfish to some as you may have pursued it at the expense of people around you. Friends, family, co-workers or employees may feel like instruments who’ve been neglected in the course of your achievements. So, take time to soothe these wounded souls.
